Late in 2021 I completed my MA Traditions of Yoga and Meditation at SOAS. During my studies I didn’t run any workshops (plus COVID happened…). But I am preparing an exciting workshop on integrating philosophy into Vinyasa Practice, coming in Spring 2022, find details below (dates and venues to be confirmed soon). Thanks!

Yoga Philosophy in Action

Enhance your experience of yoga integrating philosophy into your yoga practice

 A workshop with Adriana Maldonado

This workshop will help you understand and experience through mind and body the main philosophical aspects of yoga as well as techniques of concentration while on the move, or in stillness, through your vinyasa and breath practice.

The first 45 minutes of the workshop will look into the main historical marks and identify where these philosophical points were developed; particularly we speak of the Yoga Sutras, Buddhist influences, Tantra, and Haṭhayoga. Adriana will teach you the main yoga techniques that are found within these sources and how these serve as the philosophical base for the building of Modern Postural Yoga, particularly touching on Vinyasa. She will expand on the key figures of yoga in the West such as Krishnamacharya, Iyengar, Sivananda, Pattabhi Jois and Vanda Scaravelli.

During the next 60 minutes Adriana will guide a Vinyasa Yoga practice where you will be able to identify and practice the elements explored in the first part of the workshop.

In the final 15 minutes Adriana will guide you through a pranayama practice and brief meditation. The session will close with Q&A.

Please get in touch if you are interested in attending or running this workshop in your yoga studio: or call 07828549740. Thanks!
